Baby Crib Recall Information
08/02/2010
With the cooperation of seven different firms, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of more than two million cribs to address drop-side hazards and other hazards affecting the safety of young children. The manufacturers involved include:
- Child Craft
- Delta Enterprise Corp.
- Evenflo
- Jardine Enterprises
- LaJobi
- Million Dollar Baby
- Simmons Juvenile Products Inc.
Due to various design flaws with cribs from these manufacturers, infants and toddlers can become entrapped in the cribs, which can lead to entrapment, strangulation, suffocation or other injuries. Learn more about this recall at CPSC's website here.

Pharmaceutical Litigation Settlement | Avandia Litigation
07/30/2010
In early June, drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline PLC settled some 5,000 lawsuits with patients over the diabetes drug Avandia. Sales of the drug began to fall after a 2007 study indicating risk of heart problems and stroke connected with Avandia, which was prescribed to diabetics to help control blood sugar levels. The first U.S. trial of an Avandia claim is scheduled for October. (Link: Massive Settlement Reached by Glaxo in Avandia Litigation)
